your getting ready to go out and buy your baby’s pram! its so exciting!
where do you start? what are you meant too look for?
well, hopefully once you’ve read this you will be feeling a little more confident before you head out shopping.
we will start with what a 3in1 travel system is, its going to have everything you’ll need to travel with baby, that is your carry cot( 0-6months) , seat unit( 6 months plus) and your infant carrier. most travel systems will also include car seat adapters that will allow you to put your infant carrier( car seat) on to the chassis of your pram.
you no not have to buy a 3 in1 and if you have found a car seat you prefer you can just buy the pram as a 2in1.( if you plan on having the car seat on the chassis make sure you check that your preferred one will fit on.)
when thinking about your pram you need to consider a few things such as
how you will be using it ( are you walkers and spend lots of time in the country side? or do you live in the city where you’re going to need something with smaller wheels? )
will it fit in your car or on the bus? looking from the practical side of things unless you’re okay to buy a new car or start walking every where you will need to think about this. maybe take the length and width of your boot and ask about dimensions while getting a demo.
are you tall or small? handles that extend are great for tall people as it means that they will not be kicking the pram every 2 minuets, handles that adjust are fab if you have small family member’s who will want a push too! have a look at them both and see which one feels better for you.
will you need a big shopping basket? most of the time yes will be the answer to this question( have you seen all the lovely cute things that baby will just have to have?)
weight limits, this is important to k now if you’re planning on using the pram for a long time. how long can baby stay in each unit and what weight can the pram take over all( you’ll need to know this so you are not over filling your shopping basket and damaging the chassis)
we asked a group of 14,000 mums what they wished they’d have known before buying their pram and a big on we found was how to use it, this is so important, make sure you receive a full demo and do not be afraid to ask questions or to see something again. your child is going in this you need to know as much as you can about it, visiting an independent retailer is the best way of this happening as they tend to have a little more time and knowledge.
